CONSERVATIVES HAVE A CLEAR VISION FOR THE FUTURE

* We continue our prudent   financial management , keep down council taxes but  ensure maximum service levels for our residents.

*We will seek co-operation  with other authorities to maintain services and  control costs.

* We will plan for long term infrastucture investment, job creation and business expansion in cooperation with  local business ,voluntary sector and the  Town Teams in Clitheroe and Longridge .

* We will complete our root and branch review of our planning policies to ensure that future development will be balanced and proportionate – and our first priority will be to meet the housing needs both of our young and elderly people with more starter homes and residential and sheltered accommodation.

* We will preserve the rural environment  of the Ribble Valley .

* We utilise all the new powers contained in the government’s Localism Bill, currently passing     through Parliament, to make more decisions locally in the interests of Ribble Valley residents .

*We will take a full part in the proposed  Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership to stimulate growth and jobs in the area utilising grants from  the government’s Regional Growth  Fund .

* We will continue to control and streamline the costs of local democracy .

We inherited the Labour government's financial chaos which they left behind. We have had to play our part in sorting out the country's finances. No elected representative wants to reduce public spending , and in anyway effect adversely the standard of living of the public . However this is the task  with which we have been left and will not shirk from making difficult decisions.

''We were  told by Gordon Brown that he could end 'boom and bust'  Ed Milliband and Ed Balls were his  main advisors  when he failed  to regulate the banks , borrowed and spent money  which the British taxpayer could not  afford.  We have   financial crisis and owe £1 trillion pounds   Every baby born today inherits £50,000 of Labour’s debt. The  annual  budget deficit  costs  £120million a day in interest payments,  annually  more  than we spend on schools, education  or defence.

Don’t let  Labour do to our Council what they have done to our Country.
