Nigel Says Local Authorities Should Listen To
Communities on Planning Issues

Nigel Evans, Member of Parliament for the Ribble Valley, today spoke of the importance of the decision making process of planning procedures to be taken at the lowest level possible.

Speaking during questions to the Secretary of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change and specifically referring to applications for wind farms and turbines Mr Evans said:

“It is important that Local Authorities listen to what their residents tell them regarding wind turbines and wind farms as the appropriate siting will help provide for Britain’s energy needs but inappropriate siting could damage the future viability of that industry.”
