Ribble Valley Conservatives today called for all Conservatives to back David Cameron's call and fight the general election on the record of the govenment's incompetent and disasterous handling of the economy and  show it's impact in Lancashire .

Ken Hind senior vice chairman , speaking on behalf of the Association ,stated ''Gordon Brown had tried to break the cycle of boom and bust but instead has created a bigger artificial boom than we have ever seen before and a resulting greater rescession . He has tried to defy prudent economics by borrowing at the top of the economic cycle when he should have been repaying public debt , sold the nation's gold when the price was at it's lowest , destroyed the strongest investment based pension system in Europe and created the largest public sector budget deficit we have ever seen.''

'' His policy has been 'spend spend spend 'without thought of the long term consequences which will be felt in the country for the next 10 years. Every baby born in Britain today will inherit £50,000 of public debt to repay in their lifetime. We do not invite a burglar who has broken into our homes, ransacked every draw to come back and tidy it up.! That is what the British public are being asked to do in re-electing Gordon Brown. He inherited as Chancellor the strongest economy for generations in 1997 from former Conservative Chancellor of Exchequer , Ken Clark and proceeded to mismanage it.

'' We need a government that will be far more jobs friendly and see the need to encourage manufacturing industry that has always been the life blood of Lancashire, work to reduce  the recent rapid increases in unemployment one consequnce of the economic incompetence of this government . ''

''We support David Cameron's appeal for voters to free themselves from the "dark depression" of Gordon Brown. As he  said at the Spring Conference ;

''What sort of genius is it that doubles the national debt? What sort of genius is it that takes one of the best pension systems in the world and wrecks it?" he said. "That's not genius, that's incompetence and at this coming election we are going to out your record, and tear it apart piece by piece."

Mr Cameron stated  the public knew that another five years of Mr Brown would be a "disaster", and warned that tensions between ministers were "dragging the country down".

"Another five years of spending and bloat and waste and debt and taxes," he said. "Another five years of failing to get to grips with our big social problems, another five years and the politics of that big top-down, bossy 'I know best' sort of approach and another five years of a Government that is so dysfunctional, so divided, so weak.

"You have got a bunch of ministers that can't work with him but can't get rid of him, you have got a Prime Minister who can't work with them and can't make his Government work."

''The Conservatives have a "patriotic duty" to win the election so they could put the country on the path to recovery. We will  create an environment where business could thrive, reform welfare so people got a "hand up rather than a handout", create schools that gave genuine opportunity to all, and cut the costs of politics.

Mr Cameron promised that the Conservative manifesto will include  family friendly policies and recognise marriage in the tax system.
