Nigel Evans, Member of Parliament for the Ribble Valley, has today called on the Government to be more proactive in its approach to mounting strikes across the UK.

Mr Evans said:

“BA strike action is ongoing and there is a threatened rail strike after the Easter weekend. This really is the spring of discontent.

“The Government must be more proactive in the face of these strikes because of the huge disruption and misery that they cause for businesses and customers alike. These strikes will hit returning holidaymakers and millions of commuters and will cause complete and utter chaos.

“The Prime Minister needs to be firm and stand up to the militant Unions. The Government must do everything in its power to avert the strikes or else face the public wrath that will, no doubt, ensue.”
