Sue was born and raised in Preston and has lived here her whole life.
She was first elected in 2014 for Preston Rural North and continues to support her residents who have faced many challenges, especially relating to planning issues. Sue has held numerous positions as a Councillor, including Group Leader from 2019 until 2024 when she stood down to become Deputy Mayor of Preston. She has been the Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee between 2019 and 2024, and has again this year taken up the role again, after finishing her role as Mayor of Preston.
Sue was very honoured to have been the 697th Mayor of Preston from 2025-2026, and only the 18th female to have held this role since 1179.
Sue is currently the Deputy Group Leader of the Conservative Group on Preston City Council.
