If you're unsure whether you're on the list or not, see the link above there's a facility for checking your place on the electoral register.
No matter the vote, be it for your local councillor, police commissioner or MP - if you're not registered to vote you cannot have a say. Remember, elections can be held at very short notice, so join the list now - don't panic and scramble to do it as the election is announced.
Those on the electoral register are also invited to vote on any referendum which takes place. You need to be on the list, in order to have your say.
Basic Registration: Every British person has the right to vote, it's quick easy and makes sure that you get your say on how this country is governed
Vote from Abroad:
Ex-pats are also entitled to vote, so whether you're living abroad briefly or working abroad, you still have the right to have your say in elections and referendums.
Students and military: You may be living away from home for the time being, but you still have a full right to vote!
If you’ve just moved house, you will need to register to vote again, and it's incredibly important that you do, otherwise you may not be able to vote. So while you’re unpacking your fridge and updating your TV licence, take a few minutes to ensure that you’re registered to vote.
Be sure that you're on the list...It's the only way you'll be able to have your say on the issues which will affect you over the coming years. Don't miss out.
