It is important to understand that Ribble Valley Conservative Association doesn’t just cover wards in the Ribble Valley alone. The wards Coupe Green & Gregson Lane, Farington, Samlesbury & Walton, Lostock Hall and Bamber Bridge fall inside the boundaries of Conservative controlled South Ribble Borough Council but are actually within the Ribble Valley parliamentary constituency, following changes made prior to the last general election in 2010 and are represented by our own Nigel Evans MP. South Ribble Borough Council operates a Leader and Cabinet structure of local government rather than the committee structure favoured by Ribble Valley Borough Council and has several association members in senior positions in that administration.
